One of the greatest joys in the life of a disciple is fellowship with like-minded disciples. God makes fellowship with one another a priority in our lives because we are stronger together than we are a part. It is also a delight and joy to spend time and do life with other disciples!
God instructs us to exhort one another, pray for one another, and continue on one accord daily. Exhort means to encourage strongly, help to push forward, or advise. Have you ever been in need of encouragement and a Godly friend sends you a scripture or prayer that lifts your mood? We exhort one another so that we may endure and so that we may remain steadfast in this life as a disciple.
Consistent fellowship with disciples who are of the same mind helps you to keep God first in your life.
Are you in daily communication with people who edify you, encourage you to abide in Jesus, support your spiritual growth, study God’s Word with you, and give honest and loving rebuke when needed? These things are essential in helping us to abide daily in Jesus.
Lesson 9: Daily fellowship with other disciples is a vital part of serving God. We are to exhort one another, pray for one another, be there for one another in the highs and lows of life, break bread together, and continue on in a spirit of humility and oneness of mind.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for giving us one another to lean on in this life. Connect me with friends who are disciples pursuing you and living for you wholeheartedly and allow me to be that friend to others as well. I ask it in your name, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
